Abstract
The present work aims to discuss how the lack of elaboration of emotions can become a symptom and present itself in the form of pathology. A dialogue was initiated about the process of psychosomatic illness through the lens of the person-centered approach. For this purpose, a bibliographical review of the work “Becoming a Person” by Carl Rogers was used as a methodology, in order to investigate the relationship between the lack of elaboration of emotions and psychosomatic illness. Person-Centered Therapy is a great tool for understanding and elaborating symptoms in the treatment of people affected by psycho-emotional illnesses.
