Abstract
I am different. Am I different?
Although the integration of children with intellectual disabilities is improving constantly, educational materials are still lacking for the youngest age groups with the aim to introduce the idea of intellectual disabilities, and to show them that some of their peers, even though different from what we call average, are still organic and valuable members of the community.
With my comic, I hope to give parents a tool to start conversations with kindergarten-age children to sensitize them to the topic and to promote openness towards children with intellectual disabilities.
This project is in it's early stage, but I hope to have the opportunity to dedicate entire books to the topic in the future.
