Abstract
The general objective of this thesis is to develop and investigate microfluidic devices to be applied to the culture of eukaryotic cells and the study of fluids in porous media.
During this thesis work, microfluidic devices have been successfully developed, which were applied in the culture of both adherent and suspended cells and in the analysis of flow in porous media. A new method of manufacturing microfluidic devices has been developed the manufacturing of microdevices possible in the country (and in other developing countries), without the need of access to a cleanroom, which will make the massification of microfluidic possible.
