Abstract
Sexuality is a fundamental component of quality of life, influenced by several factors. Female orgasmic disorder, characterized by difficulties in reaching orgasm, can negatively impact women's emotional well-being and quality of life in relationships. This study sought to understand how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can be used to treat women with female orgasmic disorder. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy focuses on modifying dysfunctional thoughts and inappropriate behaviors, promoting positive changes in individuals' thinking and behavior. It uses psychoeducation, which plays a crucial role in deconstructing prejudices and taboos, promoting a healthy view of female sexuality. The research adopted a bibliographic, descriptive, and qualitative approach, seeking to understand the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in the treatment of women with Female Orgasmic Disorder. The results highlighted the importance of psychoeducation, prescribing behavioral tasks, and techniques such as guided masturbation. The conclusion emphasizes the promising effectiveness of CBT, but points to the need for further research to evaluate its effectiveness in different contexts and populations, considering cultural, social, and relational factors in the female orgasmic experience.
